My journey with clay began on my father’s brickyard before I could walk. It continued throughout school, and into a major in ceramics at university. I have operated a ceramics studio for over twenty years and moved through many ranges and expressions.
This range is a return to love. In honoring the layers and edges, the integral and unexpected, the true beauty and nature of clay is epitomized.
Loreta Makamanzi and I have worked together since 2012 and she is now our studio manager. Gina Makamanzi joined us in 2017. These beautiful Zimbabwean sisters have a natural sensitivity towards clay, essential when creating organically from plastic clay and not slip casting en masse.
